Industrial Ethernet on Xilinx Zynq
Industrial Ethernet: POWERLINK
An Industrial Ethernet protocol allows to deterministically exchange process data in real time. POWERLINK is the only hard real-time Industrial Ethernet protocol available in Open Source for both, Master and Slave configurations. It is based on standard Ethernet and therefore runs on any kind of hardware and software platform.
The Xilinx All programmable SoC architecture Zynq-7000 combines the performance of an ARM Coretex-A9 dual-core CPU with the freedom of configuration of an FPGA fabric in a single chip. Due to its high grade of flexibility and its small hardware footprint, the Zynq is an ideal platform for small devices offering high performance in automation projects.
